BALLINGER, TX -- A Ballinger Independent School District employee has been arrested and charged with one felony count of theft and six felony counts of credit card abuse.

According to court documents, Janna Beth Halfmann, 51, of Rowena was indicted by a 119th District Grand Jury on May 23.

The indictment alleges Halfmann between Aug. 1, 2015 and Sept. 30, 2018 unlawfully appropriated cash between $30,000 and $150,000 from the Ballinger ISD.

Court records allege Halfmann fraudulently obtained two MasterCard credit cards, one Lowe's credit card and three Walmart credit cards between Aug. 2013 and Sept. 2018.

Halfmann's bond is listed at $70,000.  She was reportedly arrested Wednesday.

At least one other person is allegedly involved in this investigation.
