Man Indicted for Swinging Knife at Family Because Girlfriend Wouldn't Answer

SAN ANGELO, TX -- A man was indicted on May 2 for swing a knife at his family members because his girlfriend would not answer her phone.

On November 8, the San Angelo Police Department was dispatched to the 1200 block of Coke st. for a man that was trying to stab family members.

When they arrived two men had already disarmed the man and were waiting on police. Police met with three people who were inside when the altercation took place.

Police say that Edward Reyna, 52, was trying to call his girlfriend but she would not answer the phone. This enraged Reyna to the point where his family was trying to calm him down.

This is when Reyna grabbed a knife from the kitchen and began swinging it at his family members. According to the affidavit, the knife did not cut anyone but came close to cutting one of the men's upper right arm. The two men that were inside the house then took the knife from Reyna, threw it on the floor, and took him to the back of the residence.

Reyna was then arrested and booked into the Tom Green County Jail. He was released on a $50,000 bond on December 12.

His post indictment reporting is scheduled on May 22.
