WATCH: Grand Jury Indicts Driver for Smashing Through a San Angelo Walmart with a Ram 2500

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The man accused of driving his pickup truck through Walmart in June 2018 has been indicted.

Caleb J. Milton Wilson, 20, was indicted by a Tom Green County grand jury on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second degree felony, and one count of criminal mischief.

On June 28, Wilson drove his red Dodge Ram 2500 through the automatic doors of Walmart at 5501 Sherwood Way around 12:40 a.m. Wilson had been driving around with an female friend from out of town according to the arrest affidavit.

Around midnight, Wilson told his friend he needed to get some water. At the store, the friend used the self checkout lanes to complete her purchase, but realized Wilson was not with her. He reappeared as she was finishing her purchase. Wilson told her to meet him outside.

Outside, witness statements said the two were in an argument and Wilson used a grease gun to break the driver's side window of the Dodge Ram. Wilson's friend became scared and a good samaritan suggested that she use the bathroom as an excuse to get away and escorted her back inside.

After a short while, the two walked back outside and Wilson repositioned his truck to face the two in the automatic glass doors and revved his engine. Police said the surveillance video supported the two witness statements.

Wilson then plowed through the grocery side of Walmart and exited the building. When he exited the building, he tried to flee police and collided with a Toyota Camry. The indictment says Wilson "did then and there intentionally and knowingly threaten [the female and samaritan] with imminent bodily injury."

The indictment says Wilson caused anywhere between $2,500 to $30,000 in damage.
