Armed Suspect Assaults and Injures San Angelo Police Officer

SAN ANGELO,TX -- San Angelo Police officers arrested a wanted suspect at a residence on E. 22nd St. Thursday afternoon after the man began fighting with an officer in the front yard of the residence.

Officer Piatt-Fox identified the suspect as 29-year-old Michael Sanchez-Lopez.

Sanches-Lopez is charged with assault on a peace officer and resisting arrest and resisting transportation because he continued to be uncooperative while in custody.

He might be charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.
