Walmart Shoplifters Arrested After High Speed Chase

SAN ANGELO, TX – A San Angelo man and a woman were arrested Thursday after a string of thefts left them wanted by San Angelo Police.

On Jan. 11, SAPD officers were dispatched to the McDonald's on N. Bryant on a call about someone stealing a man's car. When police arrived a man informed them that someone had stolen his 2010 Nissan Maxima.

Police reviewed surveillance video and realized that the man who stole the car was 28-year-old Zachary Revira. According to an affidavit, the officer that was on scene knew Revira due to the two speaking the day prior. 

On Feb. 17, SAPD officers were dispatched to the Walmart on 29th St. about a possible shop lifter. When officers arrived they met with Walmart's Asset Protection and learned that there was a man in a hoodie trying to steal merchandise out of the store. Officers waited in front of the exit for the man to come outside. The man walked outside, saw the police, immediately dropped all of the items, and then sprinted through the parking lot. Officers chased him through the parking lot and say they yelled at the man multiple times "Stop, Police, Stop."

The man then got into the passenger side of a Gold Chevrolet Pickup. The driver and the suspect fled the scene but the cops were right behind them. Officers chased them down Edmund St. until the pickup began to cross into the oncoming lane of traffic. This is when police called off the chase for the safety of the public.

Police then reviewed the surveillance video at Walmart, and were able to find out the license plate of the vehicle. Once running the plates police say that they contacted the owner of the truck. Detectives met with the owner and learned that Revira and Cristina Sibolboro, 31, had been staying at her house. 

On March 7, the two were taken into custody. While in custody, Sibolboro admitted that the two were at Walmart that night and that she was driving the truck at first while Revira was running on foot. While driving though Sibolboro claims that she and Revira switched places and he was driving once the car began swerving into other lanes.

Revira was charged with unlawful restraint, theft of a property, evading arrest with a vehicle, interfering with public duties, and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. His bond was set at $26,000.

Sibolboro was charged with theft of a property and evading arrest with a motor vehicle. Her bond was set at 16,000.
