WATCH: Ash Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – Many people celebrated Ash Wednesday throughout many churches around the area.

St. Joseph's Catholic Church held their Ash Wednesday Mass. Reverend Felix Archibong led the mass through all of the ceremonies including the marking of a cross on a persons forehead with ash from the palms of Palm Sunday.

 

Ash Wednesday is a Christian holy day of prayer, fasting, and repentance. It is preceded by Shrove Tuesday and falls on the first day of Lent, the six weeks of penitence before Easter. "Whether you are Catholic, Baptist, or Church of Christ we are all children of Christ, Said Rev. Archibong.
