Suspect Indicted on Theft Charges After Stealing Packages

 

ABILENE, TX – A package thief suspect was indicted on Thursday after being caught stealing a cooler and pawning it for heroin money.

According to court documents, on Oct. 19, 2018 Jacob Knight Winters was arrested for burglary of a habitation and possession of heroin after residents of a subdivision called police about a suspicious vehicle that was driving around the neighborhood.

Abilene Police say that Winters was responsible for multiple thefts of package in the recent months.

One of the items that Winters stole was a $500 Yeti Cooler. Winters admitted to Police that he stole the cooler and pawned it.

According to KTXS, He told police he would "take things to sell to feed his heroin addiction."

Video from a camera in the garage of the house where the cooler was stolen is the main piece of evidence in this case.
