Six Month Investigation Leads to Meth Bust in Ballinger

 

BALLINGER, TX – A Ballinger man has been arrested after a six month investigation led officers to one half pound of methamphetamine on Saturday.

The Runnels County Sheriff's Office, and the Winters Police Department have been conducting a six month long investigation of Juan Avilia. A search warrant was issued, and inside officials found one half pound of methamphetamine. They also found a stolen hand gun which the serial number had been removed, one ballistic body armor, scales and packaging materials, and also less than 2 lbs of marijuana.

Avilia was charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm be a felon, unlawful possession of body armor, tampering with identification number, and possession of marijuana.

His bond is set at $191,000, and he is currently in the Runnels County Jail.
