Suspect Arrested for Allegedly Sexually Assaulting a Child

 

SAN ANGELO, TX – A San Angelo man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl.

San Angelo Police Department responded to Shannon Medical Center for a report of a sexual assault of a child on January 29. Officers found a 16-year-old.girl who told them that Angel Guadalupe Rodriguez, 22, assaulted her earlier that day.

Detectives conducted a forensic interview with the child and confirmed that Rodriguez had sexual intercourse with the child.

On Feb. 1, SAPD found and interviewed Rodriguez. According to an affidavit, Rodriguez admitted to police that he had sex with the child on Jan. 26. 

Rodriguez was charged with sexual assault of a child, a second degree felony.

Rodriguez was booked into the Tom Green County Jail on Wednesday. His bond was set at $35,000 and he was released Thursday at 10:13 a.m.
