City of Abilene Cancels Rap Concert Due to Deadly Gang Violence Threat

ABILENE, TX – The City of Abilene has canceled a rap concert due to the concerns of deadly gang violence.

Boosie Badazz was scheduled to perform Saturday at the Abilene Convention Center, but is currently working on moving the concert to the Taylor County Expo Center.

Previous Boosie concerts have resulted in such gang violence, including one where three people were shot and one was left dead.

This came after the crime stoppers of Abilene received a tip that said there would be deadly gang violence at the event.

The hosts of the concert have contracted with the APD for extra security at the Taylor County Expo Center.
