Man Arrested After Intentionally Crashing His Truck into Woman's Car

SAN ANGELO, TX — On Saturday, a man was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after a vehicular altercation in northeast San Angelo.

Robert Rojas, 34, was arrested on July 7 after continuously ramming his white truck into a maroon Buick passenger car multiple times, causing the victim fear of serious bodily injury or death.

According to court documents, the investigating detective interviewed two officers that were dispatched to the 600 block of Preusser St. for the report of a domestic disturbance. They found both parties and both were claiming the other intentionally rammed the other with their vehicle.

The investigating officer made contact with the victim and learned that “the vehicular altercation took place north along Baze St near the loop, continuing onto Culwell St westbound, circling back along 1200 E 18th St, and south on N. Poe St, with several collisions taking place during the altercation.”

The officer then examined  the path and found evidence that matched the victim's claims. The officer found tire marks and drag marks near the 1700 block of N Poe St.

Court documents state a witness was also interviewed who saw the altercation near his home. The witness stated, “he was outside when he witnessed a white truck driven by a male chasing a red passenger car. He saw the white truck push the red car off the roadway, then go in reverse and slam into the side of the red car so hard that it put the red car up on two wheels.”

The witness also stated he could see the occupant screaming inside the red vehicle like she needed help, but then fled from the truck and out of sight. The witness did state that he never saw the victim try to assault the white truck.

The detective reviewed the original scene photos and found that the evidence was consistent with the witness’s claims.

The victim told authorities she had an off-again on-again relationship with Rojas.

Rojas is in being held in Tom Green County jail in lieu of a $20,000 bond. Robert refused to be interviewed by the investigating detective.

Robert lost his temper and consequently his composure in a domestic dispute with a woman. He could've achieved the same humiliation by publicly castrating himself.
