Teen Takes Law Enforcement on 100 MPH Chase

 

ODESSA, TX — Ector County Sheriff’s Deputies were led on a high-speed chase for nearly 20 minutes by a man that is now in custody, according to News West 9.

On Tuesday night, the ECSO Narcotics unit initiated a pursuit of a white Nissan near 10th and Sam Houston.

The suspect’s vehicle tried to evade law enforcement, disregarding red lights, and nearly colliding with another vehicle. Speeds during the chase reached over 100 miles per hour. The Texas Department of Public Safety’s helicopter assisted with the pursuit.

The chase ended around the Moss Ave and Hubnik Rd. intersection.  

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Isaac Florez, 17. He was taken into custody and charged with evading arrest with a vehicle which is a 3rd Degree Felony, punishable by 2 to 10 years in a correctional facility and a $10,000 fine.
