SAN ANGELO, TX — Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested a Brownwood man during an undercover prostitution sting at a San Angelo hotel last week.

Aaron Michael Smith, 23, was arrested around 9:00 p.m. last Tuesday on charges of possession of controlled substance and prostitution.

According to KTXS, court documents revealed that Smith had been communicating to officers from Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Department of Public Safety via text message.

Smith had agreed to sex in exchange for money and methamphetamine, according to court documents.

The court documents said that Smith arrived at 6:40 p.m. at the Inn of Conchos at 2021 N. Bryant Blvd. and officers arrested him as soon as he walked through the door.

During the investigation, initially there were no drugs found on Smith when they searched him, but when Smith asked to call his mom to come pick up his vehicle, an officer noticed “a corner of a plastic baggie sticking out of the back of his phone case.

According to KTXS, the document stated the officers removed the case and found a baggie with over a gram of meth inside it. He was subsequently charged with possession of a controlled substance.
