Brady Five-Year-Old Injured in Hit and Run While Exiting School Bus

BRADY, TX -- A Rochelle, TX man has been arrested in connection with a hit and run accident that injured a five-year-old boy who was exiting a school bus in Brady on Wednesday.

According to Brady Police Chief Steve Thomas, the boy was getting out of the bus when the driver of a 2004 tan Chevy Silverado passed the school bus and struck the child.  The driver failed to stop and render aid.

The bus was equipped with a video system which recorded the entire incident and the vehicle’s license plate was visible.  The McCullough County Sheriff’s Office sent deputies to an address in Rochelle, TX and the suspect and vehicle were observed there.

The Brady Police Department then contacted the driver who turned himself in on Thursday.  He was charged with felony accident involving personal injury or death.

The boy sustained only minor abrasions.
