SAPD Identifies Murder-Suicide Victim and Presumed Suspect

SAN ANGELO, TX - This afternoon, the San Angelo Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division released additional information, including the identities of the presumed suspect and victim, of the murder-suicide that occurred at a residence in the 1900 block of Spring Creek Drive Tuesday night.

Public Information Officer Tracy Gonzalez said, "As a result of preliminary findings, the victim has been identified as Wendi Dawn Sims, 39, and the suspect has been identified as Henry Robinson Chipman, 78 — both San Angelo residents."

This preliminary finding is based on evidence collected at the scene as well as this morning’s preliminary observed autopsy findings from South Plains Forensic Pathology out of Lubbock, Texas.

"The approximate time of death, 6:00 p.m., was pronounced by Justice of the Peace Judge Fred Buck on February 14, 2017," said Gonzalez.

This investigation is ongoing, she noted.
