Mysterious Packages Thrown Out of Vehicle During High-Speed Chase on I-20

EASTLAND COUNTY, TX- A high-speed chase on Interstate 20 resulted in two arrests near Hwy 6 in Eastland County.

KTXS reported that the chase started in Challahan County near Abilene. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a driver drove erratically on eastbound I-20 during an attempt to pull over the vehicle.

KTXS reported that the driver slowed the vehicle down, appearing to stop, but then proceeded to pick-up speed. The driver then threw packages out the window as the chase continued.

After law enforcement placed spikes in the road, the vehicle's' tires went low, causing it to wreck into the median near the Hwy 6 exit on I-20 in Eastland County.

KTXS reported that the driver fled on foot, but was apprehended shortly after.

A woman, who wasn't immediately identified, remained in the vehicle during the foot chase.

DPS troopers later collected the packages thrown out of the vehicle after arrests were made, at around 1:30 p.m.

DPS wouldn't immediately disclose the contents of the packages to local news sources.
