Reports of Men with Guns and Shots Fired Kept SAPD Officers Busy Saturday
SAN ANGELO, TX - Saturday afternoon and evening, San Angelo Police responded to a few shots fired calls. Luckily, no injuries were reported, but police are investigating the incidents further.
SAPD Public Information Officer Tracy Gonzalez said, at approximately 1:52 p.m., officers dispatched to the 700 block of W. 15th for the report of shots fired.
"Upon arrival, officers spoke with several witnesses who informed [them] that they were pursuing a vehicle who’s driver committed criminal mischief in their presence when the suspect vehicle’s passenger allegedly shot a handgun into the air, presumably in an effort to get the witnesses to stop following them. The gun was never pointed at anyone," said Officer Gonzalez.
The incident allegedly took place near the Inn of the Conchos, 2021 N. Bryant Blvd. The incident is still under investigation.
At approximately 10:07 p.m., officers dispatched to the 1900 block of Rainey Street for the report of shots fired/person with a weapon.
"Officers arrived and spoke with a witness who said a man came to his residence and kicked the front door in," said Officer Gonzalez. "The man left and reportedly came back with a gun and other three other men."
She added that the witness told the men police were on their way so the men left.
"No shots were fired, no one was injured," Gonzalez stated. "This is an ongoing investigation."
