Why does 4 teens getting arrested in Odessa for robbery, or another 18 wheeler rolling over in Ector County, or an Abilene being indicted for a drive by shooting so important that I have to read about it in San Angelo ? ? ?
Why can't we find why it's taking 3 months to keep half of Houston Harte blocked off for paving that's not happening ? Dallas/Austin/San Antonio can have entire loops built and opened around their town in that amount of time and we've had single lanes to be backed up and wreck after wreck after wreck happening because nobody is working............

Although I do enjoy expanding my knowledge with events occurring outside our city limit sign, I tend to agree with the Doc and would love to see some reports &/or updates on certain local issues. The Houston Harte construction is an excellent example. Why the heck is it taking so long? I have to traverse that madness daily going to and from work and I can say for a fact, there are workers present on average twice a month. However, when there are workers present, they definitely kick ass and I see progress being made. This leads me to believe that this project could have been completed in roughly a week. The issue (as mentioned above) is one of safety. The angle of the yield as you're getting on the freeway creates a terrible blind spot. Even though you yield and look for traffic, there is a chance you may not see a vehicle. At first I think most of the accidents were failure to yield, however, I think the blind spot issue may be to blame as well. This may be only a problem I have faced, maybe others haven't. All I know is that on at least 2 occasions (both on the Central Ramp) I yielded and looked with mirrors and over my shoulder and almost pulled out in front of another vehicle. Like I said maybe it's the design of my car or something I'm doing wrong, but I've never had this issue anywhere else.
And while I'm on my soapbox, I would like to throw out the issue of Bell street. Once again there is unnecessary road construction taking place in San Angelo while the North end of Bell Street continues to deteriorate. I'm not sure which jurisdiction Houston Harte falls under, probably not the city, but it's just another reminder of how road work is always being done, yet never on North Bell. Exiting Soapbox. Thank You
