Abilene Man Pulled from Lake Kirby Identified

 

ABILENE, TX – This afternoon, the body of an "older white male" was pulled from the south end of Lake Kirby. According to a local news source, the victim went missing Wednesday afternoon.

The family of the victim stated the man had gone to the lake around noon on Wednesday and that was the last time they heard from him. The family found the man's body, and located his boat nearby.

Abilene PD cannot confirm yet if foul play is involved, or if the man's death was an accident. No further details are available at the moment. 

Update Sept. 2 @ 10:05 a.m.

The Abilene Police Department identified the man pulled from Kirby Lake yesterday as 77-year-old George Lawson.

"This is being handled as a death investigation pending autopsy results," said Rick Tomlin, public information coordinator for APD.
