Wanted Criminal Caught in Barbed Wire

Sunday at about 8:20 pm., San Angelo Police Officers Jones and Bouligny developed information that 26-year-old wanted suspect Lionel King was at a residence in the 700 block of E 21st Street.  King had outstanding warrants for theft and failure to appear from Edwards County, a bond warrant relating to theft from Schleicher County and city warrants from San Angelo.

As Officers Jones and Bouligny staged outside the residence, King was observed escaping from a window at the back of the residence before he ran away through an alley.  Officer Bouligny caught up with King and grabbed him as he attempted to climb over a barbed wire fence.  Although King made it over the fence, he was immediately taken into custody by Officer Jones.  During a search of King incident to his arrest, a small bag of marijuana was located in his pants pocket.

King received minor injuries as a result of his encounter with the barbed wire fence.  He was transported to Shannon Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.  Upon his release, King was transported to the Tom Green County Jail and charged with his outstanding warrants, Evading Arrest or Detention and Class B Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana.
