Volunteers Fighting Grass Fires in Tom Green and McCulloch Counties

 

BRADY, TX — Volunteer Firefighters are fighting a grassfire near Water Valley in Tom Green County and near Placid, TX in McCulloch County Tuesday.

Smoke from the Water Valley area fire could be seen for miles.  The Water Valley VFD and other departments were called to the scene Tuesday afternoon.

McCulloch County ifs facing the threat of two large grass fires as outside resources are called to help.

According to the McCulloch County Sheriff’s Office, SH 377 N is currently closed, north of the Placid cutoff and south of FM 765, as firefighters battle a large grass fire.

The Brady Fire/EMS Department confirmed via Facebook numerous resources are currently on the scene. In addition, a San Angelo task force has been requested for air support in Placid.
