Woman Killed in Nolan County Crash

 

SWEETWATER, TX – A two vehicle crash left one driver dead in Nolan County on Monday.

According to troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety, , 24-year-old Kelcey Lynn Ronning was driving a 2020 Dodge Ram Pickup northbound on SH-70 when she crashed into a 2007 Chevrolet Pickup towing a trailer traveling in the southbound lane.

Ronning was pronounced dead at the scene and according to the DPS, she was wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the Chevrolet pickup, 84-year-old Martin McDonell, was transported to Shannon Memorial Hospital with stable but incapacitating injuries. The passenger, identified as 62-year-old John Clyde Gillentine Jr, was treated and released. Both men were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

At this time it is unknown what caused Ronning to crash into the Chevrolet pickup.
