Jeep Slams into Left-Turning Expedition and It's Complicated

SAN ANGELO, TX — Two vehicles collided on Knickerbocker Rd. at the Austin St. intersection Monday evening, sending both drivers to separate hospitals.

According to San Angelo police, a driver of a Ford Expedition was facing east and eased into turning left, or north on Austin. For an undetermined reason, the Expedition was hit by a westbound driver in a Jeep.

Police said there are multiple factors in this crash that likely involve conflicting witness statements. Police are delaying a decision about if the Expedition had a green light to turn or yielded properly.

One driver was rushed to Shannon and the other to San Angelo Community Medical Center via ambulance. Police said neither driver suffered life-threatening injuries. The crash happened just after 9 p.m. Monday night, July 6, 2020.
