Two Young Women Killed After Crashing Into Fuel Truck

 

AUSTIN, TX – Authorities have confirmed the identities of the two young women who died after crashing into a fuel truck on State Highway 71 in Austin.

According to KXAN, Margarita Escalante Ibarra, 23, and Alejandra Berenice-Sanabria-Alejandro, 22, were traveling west on SH 71 when Ibarra ran a red light and struck the fuel truck. Ibarra and Alejandro died at the scene of the crash.

The crash occurred around midnight and caused the closure of the road for several hours.

The driver of the fuel truck wasn’t hurt and stayed at the crash site. No charges are expected to be filed.
