Woman Killed in Crash with a Cow

 

SEMINOLE, TX – A Mississippi woman died Monday after crashing into a cow on U.S. Highway 180. 

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, on Mar. 23, troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety were dispatched to U.S Highway 180 east of Seminole for the report of a possible fatal crash. 

As troopers arrived they discovered a Mazda 3 had crashed into a cow. 

The driver of the vehicle, Brianna Surrento, 22, of Long Beach, Mississippi was pronounced dead on scene. She was wearing her seatbelt during the time of the crash. 

DPS investigators have determined that the Mazda was headed east when the cow walked in the middle of the road. 

According to Lander University located in Greenwood South Carolina, Brianna was a member of the Lander softball team from 2017-19 after transferring to the program from Chipola College after her freshman season. Following three seasons at Lander, Surrento played and coached in the World Baseball Softball Confederation before joining the coaching staff at the University of the Southwest as a graduate assistant.
