UPDATE: Carlsbad House Fire Being Investigated As Suspicious Incident

 

CARLSBAD, TX -- Several volunteer fire departments responded to a major structure fire in Carlsbad Friday evening. 

According to Grape Creek VFD Chief Jose Rivera, firefighters from the Grape Creek, Carlsbad, and Water Valley Volunteer Fire Departments were dispatched to a structure fire located at the 8th and Sterling City Rd. in Carlsbad just north of Grape Creek in Tom Green County. 

When firefighters arrived, they found a home fully engulfed in flames as well as a vehicle that was parked in front of the residence. Here is the exclusive video: 

 

 

The crews are still on scene battling the fire and are expected to be fighting it for a couple more hours. No injuries were reported. 

At this time the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Scanner reports indicate the house was vacant at the time of the fire.

UPDATE @ January 10, 2020 @ 11:30 p.m.

San Angelo Live has learned that the fire is still smoldering and is being investigated as a suspicious incident by the Tom Green County Sheriff's Office as the home that went up in flames was abandoned and had no electricity source. There are no further details regarding the cause of the fire.
