Viewing Damage to Pickup, Questions Remain How Motorcyclist Survived Scary Crash

SAN ANGELO, TX — A scary crash took place at the corner of Junius St. and North Harrison St. Thursday afternoon.

At around 4:00 p.m., a black pickup truck traveling southbound on Harrison failed to yield a right of way at the stop sign at the Junius intersection.  The motorcycle was headed west on Junius when the truck attempted to cross.  Junius has no stop sign, so the motorcycle had no reason to slow down, and they ran right into the truck's driver side passenger door.

Luckily, the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet or it could have been much worse.  Officer Long of the San Angelo Police Department, who was on the scene, said that he was responsive but was put on a stretcher and taken to Shannon Medical Center with unknown injuries.

No one in the truck was hurt, including the driver and a child passenger.  The driver of the truck was given a citation for failing to yield the right of way at a stop sign.
