83-Year-Old Woman Killed After Head-On Collision with Drilling Rig

 

SNYDER, TX -- An 83-Year-Old woman died yesterday after colliding with a drilling rig. 

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, on November 20, troopers were dispatched to CR 253 just .8 miles West of Snyder for the report of a major motor vehicle accident. 

When they arrived, they found a 2018 Toyota RAV 4 and a 1971 Franklin Drilling Rig that had collided in the middle of the roadway. 

After further investigation, the troopers determined the RAV was traveling north in the Southbound lane when it collided with the drilling rig that was heading south. 

The driver of the RAV has been identified as Earline Stroud, 83, and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

No citations have been reported at this time.
