Passenger Killed After Being Ejected from Pickup in Early Morning Crash

 

ABILENE, TX -- A fatal crash occurred this morning on Highway 80. 

According to KTXS, on November 12, the Abilene Police Department were dispatched to US West Highway 80 for the report of a major motor vehicle accident. 

When officers arrived they found a 2002 Chevrolet pickup that had crashed into a concrete barrier. 

Further investigation revealed that the truck was heading east on Hwy 80 when the driver lost control and struck the barrier. 

This caused the passenger of the truck, a 35-year-old from Redding California, to be ejected. He was pronounced dead on scene. The name of the deceased passenger has been withheld pending next of kin notification.

The driver, 32-year-old Kevin Holt of Abilene, was transported to the hospital with severe injuries.
