Women Dies After Being Hit by a School Bus

 

LUBBOCK, TX – A Lubbock woman has died after being struck by a school bus on Tuesday Morning. 

Lubbock Police responded to a crash at the intersection of 19th Street and Alcove at around 6:30 a.m. When officers arrived they found the woman who had been hit.

She was pronounced dead on the scene. 

Police say, "There were children on the bus at that time, but no one on the bus was injured." 

The school bus belonged to Levelland Independent School District which is located just 20 miles east of Lubbock. Levelland ISD released a statement saying that there were 15 students in the bus and that they were on there way out of town for an extracurricular activity. 

"The entire Levelland ISD community is deeply saddened by this event," said Levelland ISD superintendent Jeff Northern. "We offer our prayers and support for the family of the pedestrian who was involved in this unfortunate accident.
