Two Injured in a Lunchtime Crash at Dangerous Southwest San Angelo Intersection

SAN ANGELO, TX -- A two vehicle crash during the noon hour at the intersection of Sherwood Way and FM-2288 sent two people to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.

According to Officer Brian Bylsma with the San Angelo Police Department's Traffic Division a 2015 Dodge Ram was westbound on Sherwood way and turned right onto FM-2288 by Chick-Fil-A.

The driver of the Ram stopped because traffic was turning into Chick-Fil-A.  The investigation showed the car behind the pickup honked its horn and the driver of the Ram swerved quickly to the left crashing into a 2014 Lincoln four door sedan with five people in it.

The airbags deployed in the Lincoln and two passengers were injured.  Reports from the scene indicate one of the injured was an 11-year-old girl.

Both of the injured were transported by ambulance to the hospital.

Bylsma says the driver of the Ram will be cited for driving while license invalid and making an unsafe lane change.
