UPDATE: Bicyclist Injured in Crash

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- San Angelo Police are working a crash on N. Bryant Blvd. between 23rd St. and 29th St.  

The northbound lanes of N. Bryant are shut down while the P.D. works the crash. 

We have reporters on the scene and will update this story as new information becomes available. 

UPDATE: Monday 3 p.m.

A bicyclist sustained significant injuries in a crash with a vehicle shutting down N. Bryant. 

Reports from the scene say the bicyclist was transported to the hospital with an open fracture of his lower leg and was complaining of head and back pain.  

UPDATE 3:16 p.m.

According to SAPD Investigating Officer Quade at the scene, a silver Porsche was southbound on Bryant and turned left as the bicyclist attempted to cross the roadway in front of the car. 

The bicyclist failed to yield the right of way to the car and the car struck the bicyclist. 

The bicyclist was transported by ambulance to the hospital.  

The bicyclist will be issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way. 

Traffic returned to normal after the investigation of the crash was completed.
