F-250 Slams into Volkswagen After Disregarding Red Light; 1 Sent to Hospital

SAN ANGELO, TX-- A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of South A&M and West Ave. N sent one person to the hospital on Wednesday.

A white Volkswagen Jetta was westbound on Ave. N when a southbound Ford F-250 disregarded a red light and struck the Volkswagen. The collision sent the Volkswagen over the curb with extensive front end damage.

The female driver of the Jetta suffered a head injury according to police and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police say. The F-250 driver was uninjured.

The driver of the F-250 told police he thought the light had changed after looking for something that fell on his floorboard when he was stopped.

Police gave the F-250 driver two citations. One for disregarding a red light and the other for expired registration.
