SUV Plunges Off Rio Concho Dr. Bridge into Concho River

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- The driver of a red SUV drove off the roadway into the Concho River Thursday morning. 

According to the San Angelo Police Department, Rio Concho Drive was shut down so that a Home Motors wrecker could pull the vehicle out of the water.

Reporters on the scene say the driver appears to be uninjured. 

This is a developing story. 

UPDATE Thursday 9:23 a.m.

According to San Angelo Police Officer Rick Tinsley at the scene, the driver said he was driving to work east on Concho Dr. when he began coughing.  He veered across the road to the left lane and lost control.  

The SUV plunged into the Concho River.  

The driver called the crash into police.  He was uinjured and was taken to work.

Good grief, I had to read this story twice to finally realize that this is an actual story being reported on from here in San Angelo and not from Abilene or Odessa........
