UPDATE: Lays Potato Chip Truck Crunches GMC Pickup Near BBQ Joint

 

SAN ANGELO, TX -- A GMC pickup and a Lays potato chip 18-wheeler crashed at 14th St. and N. Bryant Wed. afternoon. 

Reporters are on the scene waiting for a statement from San Angelo Police Investigators. 

Traffic is being diverted at the intersection. 

This is a developing story. 

UPDATE Wed. 4:00 pm.

San Angelo Police Department investigating officer Rick Tinsley says the Lays 18-wheeler was southbound on Bryant Blvd. When it approached the traffic light at the intersection of 14th St. the light turned from green to yellow. 

The GMC pickup was setting on 14th St. eastbound when the light changed.  The 18-wheeler struck the GMC in the intersection and they crashed in front of a BBQ joint. 

There were no injures.  The 18-wheeler had to be towed away. 

The driver of the Lays 18-wheeler was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way.
