DPS Investigating Single Vehicle Crash that Killed Oklahoma Man

SNYDER, TX -- Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers are investigating a single vehicle fatal crash in Scurry County that claimed the life of an Oklahoma man.

According to DPS Trooper Sgt. Fred Biddle, the crash occurred near the intersection of SH 208 and CR 4138 Wednesday afternoon just before 3 p.m.

Biddle says 28-year-old Stephen Howard McIntire of Blackwell, OK was driving a 2017 Ford Taurus south on SH 208 when he lost control, swerved to the left into the east bar ditch.

The Taurus then crashed through a fence and rolled over. The vehicle came to rest on its left side in a pasture.

McIntire was not wearing a seatbelt.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
