U.S. 67 Southwest of San Angelo Blocked Due to Motorcycle Crash

 

SAN ANGELO, TX— Traffic is blocked on U.S. 67 near 12-mile bridge on the southwest side of San Angelo due to a crash involving a motorcycle.

According to the reporter at the scene, two souls were on the bike that now is laid on its side in the middle of the U.S. 67 roadway. One of the two on the bike refused treatment at the scene. The other was rushed away in an ambulance to Shannon Medical Center. Radio calls detail a possible head injury.

According to witnesses at the scene, the motorcycle driver was turning into a man camp located there and wiped out on the uneven pavement. Road construction is ongoing in this area. Witnesses said the motorcyclist transported to the hospital was talking and was alert when paramedics were assisting him. Although there is a large quantity of blood on the pavement, those at the scene are optimistic the rider will be okay.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, according to visual observation and to witnesses there.

Neither rider appeared to have been wearing a helmet. Troopers with the Texas DPS are investigating. The crash happened at approximately 5:35 p.m. Friday afternoon.
