Multi-vehicle Pileup Shuts Down US 67

 

BIG LAKE, TX-- US Highway 67 is shut down seven miles east of Big Lake due to a multi-vehicle crash, according to the Big Lake Wildcat.

According to the initial report, eight vehicles, including multiple 18-wheelers were involved in the crash.

The crash happened just after 8:00 a.m. One driver had to be transported to the hospital with "severe injuries" and the others suffered minor injuries. No fatalities have been reported at this point, according to the report.

The Big Lake Wildcat says it will be "hours" until the road is cleared. The Texas Department of Public Safety is currently investigating the crash.

Update 10 p.m.

U.S. 67 was re-opened at 2:32 p.m. One man was rushed to the hospital via ambulance with severe injuries. He was the driver of the rear-most 18-wheeler in the eight-vehicle pile-up, according to the Wildcat. Others were also transported via ambulance with less severe injuries, the Wildcat reported. No deaths were reported.

This is not the first time something has been posted and says they will update when available. It's now been 11 hours since the crash and there are no updates on here. Surely someone knows something by now.
