Truck Driver Miraculously Walks Away from Collision with Train

TRENT, TX-- A train collided with a boom truck near Trent on Wednesday morning, KTXS News in Abilene reported.

The crash happened when the truck was attempting to cross the railroad tracks at I-20 and County Road 349.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said that it's not often in these instances that a driver walks away without severe injuries.

The truck driver did just that.

The driver of the truck was said to have tried to beat the train, which was traveling 68-mph, when the back end of the truck was hit by the train. The impact caused the truck to roll on its side.

DPS says the driver will be cited.
