18-Wheeler Changes Lanes into Dodge Ram on Overpass at Grape Creek; Crash Blocks Traffic

Department of Public Safety Trooper Dustin Henderson said a Peterbilt 18-wheeler driven by Don Arthur of Portales, NM was northbound on U.S. 87 as was Buford Jones of San Angelo in a Dodge pickup.  Arthur didn't see the Dodge pickup and attempted to change lanes causing the Dodge to crash.  Arthur was cited for an unsafe lane change.  Jones was transported to San Angelo Community Medical Center with non-incapacitating injuries.  

SAN ANGELO, TX -- A red Dodge Ram pickup rolled over on the U.S. Highway 87 N overpass at Grape Creek blocking traffic Wednesday afternoon.  

AT about 4:25 p.m. first responders were dispatched to the overpass at Grape Creek.  Our reporter at the scene said traffic was completely diverted around the overpass.

The driver of the pickup got out of the overturned truck.  He was transported to the hospital by ambulance. No word yet on the extend of his injuries or citations.  

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating.  We will update this story as soon as additional information becomes available.
