Man Dies in Rollover Crash on U.S. 87 North

SAN ANGELO, TX — An Oklahoma man died in a rollover crash on U.S. 87 north of San Angelo early Friday morning.

According to the Texas DPS, David Anthony Garmon, 28, of Arga, Oklahoma was northbound on U.S. 87. At around 12:45 a.m. at about 12 miles north of San Angelo, he drove the truck into the east barrow ditch. He overcorrected back to the left, drove across both northbound lanes, and went into a side-skid. The 2004 Ram 2500 truck he was driving rolled multiple times into the center median. The Ram came to a rest upright facing north in the median between the north and southbound lanes.

Justice of the Peace J.P. Buck pronounced Garmon dead at the scene. The Texas DPS was aided by the Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office in the crash investigation.

The speed limit along this stretch of highway is 75 mph. The weather was clear and the roadway dry.

DPS could not determine if Garmon was wearing a seatbelt. He was the only occupant of his vehicle and no other vehicles were involved.
