Police: Multiple Crashes Due to Icy Roads. U.S. 277 Opened

Tom Green County Sheriff's Office says U.S. 277 South between Walling Pecan Rd. and Reece Rd. has reopened to traffic following a crash.  

Bridges and overpasses are still iced over and will remain icy and dangerous.  Temperatures are not expected to reach above freezing until this afternoon.  

SAN ANGELO, TX -- San Angelo Police and Tom Green County Sheriff’s deputies are urging drivers to avoid Loop 306 and use caution on all area roadways due to icy conditions this morning.  

The Sheriff’s office says U.S. 277 is closed between Walling Pecan Rd. and Reece Rd. due to a traffic accident.

SAPD says if at all possible avoid Loop 306 and Houston Harte as multiple accidents have already occured.

Tom Green County has announced that all county offices, courts and the library will not open until 10 a.m. due to icy road conditions.
