DPS Identifies Person Killed in 18-Wheeler Head-on near Winters

WINTERS, TX -- KTXS is reporting the Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the person killed in a head-on crash with an 18-wheeler last week near Winters on U.S. 83.  

Joe Fry and Doug Myers with KTXS report the victim is 48-year-old Doris Jean Morrison of Winters.

According to the report, Morrison was driving her Chrysler passenger car when the 18-wheeler hit a cow in the roadway and lost control striking her vehicle.  

She was pronounced dead at the scene.  

The driver of the 18-wheeler wasn't injured.  The investigation into the crash continues.

Winters, TX -- One person is dead following a head-on crash in northern Runnels county overnight.  

Joe Fry and Doug Myers with KTXS news are reporting that an 18-wheeler crashed head-on into another vehicle.  The Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.  

Fry and Myers say the Runnels County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the collision on US 83 north of Winters late Thursday.
