MERTZON, TX — A truck tractor towing a semi-trailer tank labeled “fuel” was driven into the side of a storefront in Mertzon late Saturday night. Irion County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Texas DPS were on the scene.

According to a deputy, the driver of the rig was northbound on Broadway, also called U.S. 67, and for an unknown reason, the truck driver drove into the side of Hargrave's at 104 N. Broadway St.

The driver told the deputy he didn’t remember a thing when he was helped down from inside the cab, which was inside Hargrave’s Store.
