Five Citations issued in Three Car Pileup on Sherwood Way at the Loop

SAN ANGELO, TX -- Three Cars collided under the Loop 306 overpass at Sherwood Way Thursday afternoon.  According to San Angelo Police Officer Brian Bilsma, a white 2016 Hyundai Sonata was the front car, the blue car in the middle was a 2015 Honda Civic and a 2013 Dodge Caravan was in the back.

Officer Bilsma says traffic was backing up under the Loop and the driver of the blue Civic said the caravan ran into his car pushing it into the Sonata.  There were four people in the caravan including two children and one in each of the other cars.  No one was injured.

Officer Bilsma said five citations were issued.  The driver of the van was issued a citation for failure to control speed, no insurance and driving while license was invalid.  The driver of the blue Civic was issued a citation for failure to change address and expired plates.

Reporters on the scene say traffic was backed up to Sunset Blvd. and westbound traffic was down to one lane.

"Failure to control speed, no insurance and driving while license was invalid." Oh well, just give them a citation and send them on their merry way. Maybe next time they cause another wreck and kill or injure someone you can maybe, I don't know...arrest them!
