Truck Causes $7,500+ In Damage To House After Failing to Yield Right Of Way

SAN ANGELO, TEXAS -- Shortly after noon today, a two-vehicle collision just outside of Sierra Vista United Methodist Church sent one woman to the hospital and left one vehicle embedded in the front side of a nearby house.

Officer Che Gonzales with the San Angelo Police Department stated that a white Chevrolet was leaving the nearby church's parking lot when it hit a black Equinox traveling southbound on College Hills. The impact caused the white Chevy to lose its traction and hit the front of a nearby house.

Gonzales stated that both drivers sustained minor injuries, but that the driver of the Chevy was taken to the hospital for further evaluation.

Homeowner Dick Childers said he had just finished eating lunch with his son when he heard a loud bang as he was putting stuff away in the kitchen. He added, "I couldn't understand what was going on for a few minutes until I saw the wall pushed in."

Luckily, no one was in the house near the point of impact, but the damage, Gonzales says, is estimated to be around $7,500 dollars with a high possibility of increasing as the interior of the house was also damaged.

The driver of the Chevy will be given a citation for Failure to Yield Right of Way.

Just proves my point from previous post. People cannot yield the right of way. People, learn how to drive and save someones life. Maybe even your own.
