Pedestrian Dies When Struck By Car on U.S. 67

 

Saturday night, a woman from Bangs was killed when she was struck by a car on U.S. 67 near Bangs.

At 9:38 p.m., DPS responded to a pedestrian versus car crash on U.S. 67, approximately 1/8th mile west of Bangs. The investigation revealed that 27-year-old Christeena Louis Stephens of Abilene was westbound in a 2013 Chevrolet passenger car when she saw an unknown object on the side of the road. She looked away briefly, and when she turned back, she saw a pedestrian standing in the middle of her lane on the roadway. DPS determined that she was unable to avoid striking the individual.

According to the Texas DPS, Suzanne Michele Franklin, 40, of Bangs was pronounced dead at the scene by Brown County Justice of the Peace Pct. 4 Judge Jim Cavanough,
