Driver Hits Parked Truck After Looking Away from Road

A woman behind the wheel of a Nissan Pathfinder was involved in a crash this afternoon in the 800 block of Koberlin St., when she veered out of her lane and slammed into a parked truck.

Investigating officer Brian Bylsma explained that the Pathfinder was eastbound on Koberlin when the accident occurred.

"The driver...she told me what she did was she reached down to pick up her sunglasses, took her off the road and ended up veering off the road and hit a parked pickup truck," Bylsma said. "On top of that, what she did is she took out a mailbox too."

The woman stated on scene that she had recently undergone surgery and was complaining of pain, and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Bylsma was in the midst of the investigation, however said she will likely be cited for failure to control speed.
