Major Crash Congests Traffic on 87 N. at 2105

Traffic has slowed to a crawl at the intersection of US 87 and 2105, where a silver Jeep and a white Buick LeSabre have collided in the intersection.

One person has already been transported to the hospital via ambulance and a second is on the way. No word has yet been relayed on the extent of the injuries.

Traffic on 87 N. has dropped down to one lane in either direction, and 2105 has been completely shut off at the intersection.

Update 5:06 p.m.

According to the investigating officer, the Jeep was heading north on 87 in the inside lane and the Buick was in the turning lane on the southbound side, attempting to turn left heading eastbound on 2105. The Buick failed to yield right-of-way to the Jeep and was hit on the passenger side.

A female in in the Buick sustained non-incapacitating injuries, while two passengers sustained injuries from seatbelts in the Jeep. All three of those individuals were transported to the hospital by ambulance.

The driver of the Buick was cited for failure to yield right-of-way at a yield sign.
