At Least One Sent to Hospital in Jeep Rollover Near Mayfield Paper

A rollover crash involving a red Jeep near Randolph and Highland Streets has resulted in at least one person being transported to the hospital.

Early scanner traffic indicated a possible four persons injured, however details of the crash have not been confirmed.

There is currently no other vehicle on scene that appears to be involved in the crash.

Investigators, San Angelo Police, and San Angelo Fire Department responded to the scene.

Update 9:45 p.m.

Officer Ed Hunger said three juveniles were in the Jeep, driving around some private property on a caliche pad, and it appeared they might have been trying to do some donuts or drift when the vehicle rolled 1.25 times.

One of the passengers was partially ejected from the vehicle and transported to Shannon.

The call came in at roughly 7:47 p.m., and Hunger estimates that the rollover occurred some 20 minutes before that.

The investigation will continue tonight and finish up tomorrow, he said.

The other passengers in the vehicle suffered minor scrapes as a result of the crash.
